I read the new guidelines "leaked" to the Washington Post. Lots of words, mostly about what governments should do. Very little about what people/businesses need to change about their interaction, and no guidance that let's their creativity to go to work. (Our local post office has figured out how people can come within touching distance instead of 6ft apart - a transparent plastic curtain coming down to 6 inches above the counter.) I mailed you (by post) an example set of guidelines and a letter to explain the why. It should get to the WH Thursday 4/16 and thru security to your screener by Monday 4/20. Hopefully not too late to have an effect... The primary goal for businesses should be to find ways to replace the very antisocial technique of "stay at home" to reduce R0 by more social ways that let people get closer than 6ft in their environment. Our culture already trains us to regard things lower down as dirtier. Let that work. Local governments can look at ideas, and nix bad ones. They need guidance on how to evaluate them and the minimum standards.
